The Zen Bedroom has been designed to offer guests a sense of peace and tranquility. One wall is painted in matt finish gold colour. Gold is associated with the Sun and in Buddhism represents knowledge, enlightenment, purity, happiness, and freedom. The stunning painting of Buddha behind the bed was painted by a well-known artist of Thailand and blesses those who sleep below. All the furniture in this room was imported from Thailand and Bali and is built in an East-Asian style further lending itself to the design of this room. The Zen Bedroom is furnished with a low bed, wardrobe and console. The room is air conditioned and is equipped with a flat screen TV with plenty of channels to keep guests entertained. The Zen bedroom also offers a direct view to the pool which is set in the courtyard of the house. The most interesting feature of this 330 square feet bedroom is the unique outdoor bathroom that also accommodates the well of the house. The bathroom though outdoors is completely private due to its design, layout and location on the property. While the wash basin and the toilet are indoors the shower is outdoors allowing guests the experience of showering under the sky but in total privacy. The basin counter is supported by 2 frogs that hold up the counter. Even the wash basin tap and the light above the mirror are both frogs. Frogs are considered lucky and seen as good fortune in both Chinese & Japanese culture. In Buddhism there’s a story of a frog being reborn as a God and even to the ancient Egyptians the frog symbolized fertility.
